Jain Vidyaashram Yoga Club ushers students to showcase their skills. It always ensures the students to seize opportunities.
JV students took part in District Level Yogasana Competitions which was conducted by Nehru Yuva Kendra along with BMF School of Yoga and Sagodari Nivedhithai women welfare Association on 29 December, 2020 at Smt. Narmada Devi J. Agarwal Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Vyasarpadi. 29 participants from diverse categories took an extraordinary effort and it bore fruit.
R.Sarvesh of Class II bagged Second prize, 10 of our students won Fourth prize, 18 students received Fifth and Sixth prizes. The students and teachers in-charge were cock-a-hoop at their success .
A week later, 60 students of JV participated in Chennai District Invitational Yoga Championship-2020 organised by Patanjali College of Yoga and Research Centre on 5th January and they bagged several prizes and certificates.
V. Pranaav Daga, P. Kasar Jain, R. Rithvik and A. Sai Vishaka of Jain Vidyaashram attended the 'Most People Attempting Ushtrasana(camel pose)' event and broke the record. They were recognised with certificates from Young Achievers Book of Record, India. 2 students among them were awarded mementos for their wonderful performance. The Principal Mrs. Esther Stanley congratulated the participants and commended the efforts of the yoga teachers.

CSSC North Cluster Kho-Kho Tournament was hosted by Jain Vidyaashram, Puzhal on 18th December 2019 at its vast playground. 25 schools across North Chennai were invited and 11 boys’ team and 12 girls’ team occupied the ground. JV band along with NCC cadets, JRC, RSP, Scouts and Guides welcomed the Chief Guests Mr. Raj Chordia CAO- JV , Mr. P.C. Chopra, Secretary JV, Mrs. Esther Stanley, Principal JV, Mrs. S.Aruna, Vice Principal - JV. Mr. P.C. Chopra addressed the gathering by briefing about Kho-Kho with basic rules. He wished the teams good luck.
He apprised that ‘sports help in maintaining energy and strength which improve their blood circulation and keep them physically fit. Sports improve mental sharpness and stamina. It always develops a sense of friendliness, team spirit, confidence among children. Education is partial without sports’.
The match started at 9:30 a.m. between the teams (Girls) Thiruthangal Nadar Vidhyalaya, Thiruvotriyur and Annai Violet International School, Pudur and (Boys) Kavi Bharathi Vidyalaya, Thiruvotriyur and Velankanni Public School, Kodungaiyur. The under 17 boys final match
was between Sri Bala Vidyalaya Sr. Sec. School, Perambur and SKNS PMC Vivekananda Vidyalaya Sr. Sec. School, Perambur. The under 17 girls final match was between Sri Bala Vidyalaya Sr. Sec. School, Perambur and Kavi Bharathi Vidyalaya, Thiruvotriyur. All the students cheered for their players and teams. Both the final matches were very exciting. All the players put their best effort to make their team victorious. The pulsating final moments witnessed some of the best National teams on show. Sri Bala Vidyalaya, Perambur emerged as the winner of both the categories and was declared as ‘The champion of the trophy’. Their strategies were mind boggling. The efforts of players and coaches are commendable. The winner team and participant teams were appreciated by all.
The Valedictory Function officially commenced after the final matches on the same day which started by 5:30 p.m. The winners were felicitated by the Honourable Chief Guest Mrs Usha Rani, the Chairperson of CSSC North Cluster and the Principal of Sri Ram Dayal Khemka Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Tiruvottiyur. She gave away the prizes to the winners and runners teams. She motivated the students by imparting knowledge about sports. The program was concluded by presenting Vote of Thanks by Mrs.Aruna Vice Principal of Jain Vidyaashram.
In commemoration with MATH WEEK CELEBRATION, Jain Vidyaashram, K.G.BLOCK conducted a Math Expo "MATHO FEST 2K19" ON 13.12.2019 Friday. Principal Mrs. Esther Stanley and the Joint Secretary inaugurated the Math Expo and viewed all the exhibits and gave positive feedback. Our Edge Co-ordinator Mam Mrs. Esaani chordia appreciated the efforts taken by the children. Math is very essential in our every walk of Life. The main objective of this Expo is to create interest in the young minds about Math and make them understand the role of Math in various fields such as Trade, Architecture, Factory, Cookery, Tailoring, Fashion Designing, Agriculture, Sports, Religion, Literature, Measurement, Photography, Rangoli designing, Physics, Chemistry, Horoscope, Drawing, Music, Dance etc., To make children explore in the field of Math, Basic concepts of Addition, Number Maze, Shoe Lacing, Arranging the Numbers, Spatial understanding, Skip counting, Easy way of Addition, Multiplication, Fun with Math, Dominos, Stringing the beads, Transfiguration of numbers, Math concepts used in Tamil / Hindi Language Brain Bay (Vedic Math), Number line concepts were exhibited by K.G. and I Std. students explained the concepts very clearly. PRE K.G and L.K.G children mesmerized the audience with their Number Rhymes. Finally the Math Expo came to an end by conducting Math Quiz in mental sums and tables and by awarding the children. To conclude, the celebration ignited a spark in the young minds about Math.
The assembly programme on 11 th December 2019 was organized by the Bharthiyar Club as it was poet Bharathi’s birthday. Students from Classes II to VIII had participated in this programme. This programme was hosted by the members of Bharathiyar Club. The programme began with the traditional Bharatanatyam dance by Class VIII students. Kids from Classes II and III attired as Bharathiyar gave phenomenal speech and sang, songs of Bharathi. Then emerged the beautiful song of Bharthi sung by the girls of Class V. Many chanted the poems and delivered speeches of Bharathiyar. A beautiful mime was carried out by the students from Classes II to VI on the theme ’Humanity’. Our states traditional Gummipaatu was also performed magnificently by the students of class VI. The programme concluded with the mindblowing speech of Mr.Ramu, HOD, Tamil, illustrating the life of poet Bharathi.
We are extremely delighted to state that S.Barathvaaaj and Madhumita, class 8 of Jain vidyaashram took part in National level essay writing competition on the topic 'Oil conservation towards a healthy and better environment' organised by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) and they passed with flying colours.
Students from all over India submitted their essays. Our students had once again demonstrated their competencies. They hit a home run and got entry to National Finals. The finalists were invited to Indian Oil Corporation, Nungambakkam and felicitated. The students were awarded with a Samsung tablet and a certificate each.
The Principal and the Management commended the student's; stupendous exertion.
